The Rhinelander High School volleyball team could not get enough offense going on Thursday night where the only recorded 32 total points when they hosted Medford in a Great Northern Conference Match. The Raiders would sweep the Hodags in three sets; 25-10, 25-16, 25-6 at the Jim Miazga Community Gymnasium.
In nearly identically sets as their loss on Tuesday against Wausau East, Rhinelander has now fell to 1-17 on the season and 0-2 in the conference standings.
Once again, the Hodags proved to have their strongest set of the night in the middle set. RHS was unable to maintain their consistency after starting strong in the second set. The Raiders would make the final push and would finish with a nine-point set win.
Leading the Hodags on the night was sophomore Kahlie Arneson, who finished with five kills and three blocks. Brooke Mork, Hannah Worachek, and Novalee Juel each recorded two kills. While Worachek also added three blocks. Olivia TerBeest finished with five assists in the setting position.
Mork would lead Rhinelander's defense with five digs, while libero Mikayla Evenstad finished with four digs. The Hodags serving continued to improve this season as they finished 24-28 as team and Brylee Ridderbusch and Arneson had two aces each in the match.
Rhinelander will be back in action for a non-conference invitational at Shawano Saturday and will then be back to their GNC schedule Tuesday when they host Antigo. It will be RHS's final match before the first Great Northern Conference tournament held at the Jim Miazga Community Gymnasium on September 15th.
