The Rhinelander High School gymnastic team earned a 121.125-106.95 Great Northern Conference Small dual win on Thursday night at the Jim Miazga Community Gymnasium on senior night. Hodag senior Stephanie Kuester made the most out of her final home meet, and would win all four events and finished with a career-high all-around score.
In a stand-out showing, Kuester had an impressive final home meet and posted three scores above an 8.0 which was highlighted by her season best (8.025) on the balance beam. She finished with her career-high all-around score of 32.825.
Not only did Rhinelander have solid individual night in the dual, but as a team they would sweep the top three spots in all the events against Medford. The Hodags are now 3-0 and lead the GNC Small division with six points. The Raiders and Chequamegon each have four conference points.
On the night, Rhinelander had a season-best team score of 29.95 on the balance beam reflected by only three falls. After Kuester, fellow senior Alyssa Mitchell earned runner-up at 7.5 and Raven Sturtevant was third at 7.475 to take the top three spots. Again, on the floor exercise, Rhinelander finished with the top-three positions led by Kuester with an 8.4. Sturtevant was second at 8.075 and freshman Bridget Koser earned third at 7.625.

The Hodags are now on their final stretch of their 2017-2018 season and will close out their GNC Small dual schedule on Tuesday when they travel to Chequamegon. The GNC meet will then take place in Wisconsin Rapids on Saturday February, 17th. The WIAA Division 2 sectionals will take place in Antigo on Thursday February, 22nd.
