The Rhinelander High School football team kicked off their 2018 season and held their first practice of the season on Wednesday, August 1st. And the Gridiron Club will host the annual Hodag Football Family day this Saturday at the practice fields next to Mike Webster Stadium.
This fun-filled event will include the intrasquad varsity Green verses White scrimmage, as well as freshman and middle school 7-on-7, concessions, test drives from Rhinelander GM, and plenty of other family entertainment. This marks the first opportunity of the year, that brings the Hodag football families and community together to support the RHS Football team.
The Hodags will walk to the fields as a team at 9:25AM with the Green and White scrimmage to follow at 10:00AM until about 12:30PM. Concessions will be available throughout the day along with Hodag football apparel for sale. Rhinelander GM/Toyota will have test drives throughout the day and will make a donation for every test drive taken. There will plenty of other activities for the family including a bounce house and face paintings.
This is one of the Gridiron Club's major fundraisers they run throughout the year and supports not only the Rhinelander High School team but also the James Williams Middle School football teams. In addition to helping pay for equipment, the Gridiron Club also assists in the pre-game meals for the varsity team.
The Green and White Family Day will be a great opportunity for the friends, family, fans, students, players, and coaches to come together to kick off Rhinelander’s 2018 football season. For additional information or to sign up to volunteer, please visit www.HodagFootball.com
