WATERTOWN, WI – Eleven youth wrestlers traveled to Watertown this past weekend for the Badger State Summer Games. Five left with first place finishes.
Connor Johnson, Dante Steinmetz, Jacob DeMeyer, Jon Fox, and Richard Klaver all went 3-0 in their round robin brackets to take first place.
Steinmetz (pictured right), who won a WWF State Title in March, got victories by technical fall and decision to put him in position to take first and needed just 34 seconds to pin Kolbe De Los Angeles of Fond du Lac to clinch the title.

DeMeyer (pictured left) did not surrender a point in three bouts, shutting out hit first and third round opponents and earning a pin in 23 second in round two. Johnson (pictured below right) and Klaver each had two pins en route to their titles. Fox had one pin.
Mike Cinfio, Randy Platek and Tyler Olson had second place finishes. Alex Reas scored a third and Derrick Dumpprope and Brenton Dotter finished fourth.
The grapplers (pictured below right) were coached by Mark Steinmetz and Kevin Larson.
