Youth Sports: Rhinelander Rebels
State Champ Rebels Honored by City

     Rhinelander Rebels Manager Dan Huhnstock is honored by Rhinelander Mayor Dick Johns on the team's Wisconsin American Legion State Championship at Saturday Rhinelander's Birthday Bash (Submitted photo).

RHINELANDER - The Rhinelander Rebels were honored by the City of Rhinelander Saturday for their recent achievement as the 2010 Wisconsin American Legion AA State Champions.

It was part of the Rhinelander Birthday Bash. Mayor Dick Johns present the team with a Certificate of Achievement from the city as well as commemorative pins.

The Rebels defeated Kimberly 9-1 in the State Championship game in Merrill on August 3. It was Rhinelander's first Legion State Championship.

Players on hand for the ceremony included Ben Prom, Kyle Comer, Nate Schmidt, Dan Kellen, Troy White, Micah Baumgartner, Joe Zuiker, Alex Henkel and Ryan Morris.
