Mason Shallow pitches for Rhinelander Green on Saturday against Rhinelander White in a Northwoods Babe Ruth League 13-14 year-old game at Stafford Field. Rhinelander Green won 13-11, keeping its perfect record in tact.
RHINELANDER – Two Rhinelander Babe Ruth Teams are still perfect on the season with three weeks remaining before the playoffs.
Rhinelander Green upped its record to 6-0 in the 13-14 year old league this past week, beating Rhinelander White 13-11 in a wild game Saturday morning at Stafford Field in HodagSports.com's Babe Ruth Game of the Week.
Trailing 11-5 going into the bottom of the fifth, the Green team rallied for five runs in the fifth and three more in the sixth to improve to 6-0 on the season.
Mitch Reinthaler scored three times while Ryan Dart and Mason Shallow combined for four hits and five RBI's in the comeback. Bryce White had two hits and scored three runs while Bryce Bilogan went 2-3 with four RBI's for Rhinelander White.
Schallow picked up the win for Rhinelander Green, pitching three innings of relief. Kent Mathews took the loss for Rhinelander White, which dropped to 1-5-1 on the season. They also suffered a 11-4 loss to Merrill 4 on Thursday.
Meanwhile rain washed away Rhinelander's Laser Pros' games during the week. The team remained 2-0.
This week, HodagSports.com will feature Rhinelander Green in the Babe Ruth Game of the week. The team will take on Merrill 3 at Stafford Field Wednesday evening at 6:00 PM. Coverage begins at 5:50.
