The YMCA of the Northwoods had had a youth archery program for the past few years, but finally took part in their first competitive competition in Caddott held on Saturday February, 17th.
They were originally scheduled to have three compete at the tournament, but one did not compete due to illness. Ava Krouze and Kale Hartzke each competed. Krouze shot a 237 and Hartzke shot a 247.
The YMCA's competitive team practices twice a week, while they also have a progressive team that practices once a week. The team will be looking at participating in more upcoming tournaments this spring.Medford Tournament
Krouze once again competed for the YMCA of the Northwoods youth archery program on Saturday March, 3rd in Medford.
Finishing seventh out of 20 competitors in her age bracket, Krause shot a 253 which was 16 points better then her previous tournament in Caddott. In the overall middle school girls' archers she finished 28th out 59.
The next YMCA of the Northwoods archery competition will take place on Saturday March, 17th in Rice Lake.
