The Hodag offense has been on fire in a four-game winning streak. But it is the defense, with three first-year starters like freshman Colton Volkmann that the Hodags and coach Dan Millot are focused on as the Antigo Red Robins come to town (Jeremy Mayo photo).
What: RHS Boys Soccer vs. Antigo When: Thusday, September 9, 4:30 PM Where: RHS Soccer Fields Coverage: 4:00 PM HodagSports.com

Folks should expect plenty of offense when the Rhinelander Hodags take on the Antigo Red Robins Thursday in a classic case of irresistible force meets movable object.
But the Hodags will be focusing on improvement and defense when they take on the last place team in the Great Northern Conference Thursday at the RHS Soccer Fields.
Rhinelander put up five goals in a win against former Wisconsin Valley Conference rival Marshfield on Tuesday. But they also allowed a pair, which is cause for some consternation by Hodag coach Dan Millot.
I thought the two goals that Marshfield scored we could have prevented, he says. We just were not in a good defensive shape and we lunged as some balls we shouldn't have lunged at.
Millot points out the inexperience of his back four. Even though the defensive starters touch all the classes senior Brett Merrill, junior Nathan Schmitz, sophomore Matt Lucas and freshman Colton Volkmann Schmitz is the only one of the four to have started a varsity game prior to this year.
It's all about discipline and we need to become a little more disciplined than we are right now, Millot added. We're still a little inexperienced in the back as far as the group of players playing together. We need to continue to improve our back line.
On paper the Hodags come in as the heavy favorites Thursday afternoon. They have won four straight, averaging 3.5 goals scored in those contests. Antigo has lost its first six games to start the season, allowing 4.7 goals per game while scoring a total of two goals .
The Hodags have shown a mastery over the Robins as of late, winning every meeting since 2003. In that seven-game span Rhinelander has outscored Antigo 44-2.
With a two-day tournament ahead in Beaver Dam and a potential first-place showdown at Mosinee looming, it would be easy for the Hodags to look past the Robins. The challenge is to make sure that doesn't happen.
We've got to make sure we stay on top of our game, Millot says of Thursday's contest. We can't necessarily look at our opponent as much as we've got to improve our game.
