     RHINELANDER – Nine members of the RHS Nordic Ski Team received team awards on Tuesday night at the team’s season-ending banquet held at Holiday Acres.

Over half of the awards went to this year’s senior class. Mike Burkett and Kelsey Daniels were named the most valuable male and female on the team. Darius Samz won a “Spirit of the Hodag” Award and Stefanie Edwards and Karina Katchko earned Honors awards.


     Jon Kroll, the lone junior on the RHS Boys team earned most improved male honors, while sophomore Abby Bloch was named the most improved female. Kari Simon won a “Spirit of the Hodag” award and Brenna Natrop also took home an Honors award.

Tuesday night was mainly about celebrating the recently concluded season and thanking those who helped make it possible, from volunteer assistant coaches, to the trail-grooming staff, to those who assisted in waxing skis to the parents. Thanks yous were extended both from RHS Nordic Ski Coach Karen Cook and Samz, speaking on behalf of the team as a captain.
