RHINELANDER - The top four teams of each division will play off for division titles. On March 17, 2010, the first place team of each division will play off with the fourth place team of their division, and the second place team will play off with the third place team of their division. Match start deadline is 7:30 p.m., same as league.
As you recall, league voted to draw for playoff locations from taverns in the opposite division. Division A playoff locations have been drawn from Division B locations and Division B playoff locations have been drawn from Division A. Whoever advances in each division will play off each other on March 22, 2010. That will determine who plays for 1st, 2nd and 3rd, 4th overall.
I ask that the team that wins call in so I can update the chart and keep other teams informed.
Final playoffs will be held on March 24, 2010 at Knight Gallery starting at 7:00 p.m. sharp. Both playoffs (1st, 2nd and 3rd, 4th) will be played at the same time. Pictures of the top four teams will be taken prior to the games starting at approximately 6:30 p.m. Those teams in the playoffs need to be at Knight Gallery by 6:30 p.m. in order to be in the pictures.
THE GOOD STUFF: As in the past, we ask that each team bring a dish to pass and a raffle prize to the championship games on March 24, 2010 at Knight Gallery. The raffle prize can be anything, such as a craft that one of your teammates made, a bottle of booze, a gift certificate, etc. Some teams actually brought more than one raffle item and that was greatly appreciated by all.
The league decided that the sponsor does not have to provide the raffle prize so it is up to the team to come up with one. This has worked out extremely well and everyone looks forward to it. To win, you must be present. You will sign up when you get there and the prizes are raffled off throughout the night. There will be free beer for as long as $100 holds out.
Please be aware that you are to pick up your win money from me the same night as the championship playoffs. Cash your checks promptly. You will forfeit your check if not cashed within 90 days and the money will be carried over into the next year season. Each team receives money for the number of wins you had throughout the season, minus any penalties for not calling in your scores or for not paying your players fees on time.
